GEMMS re-opening 30th July

For over 20 years Gemms has been offering social clubs and support services for people with memory issues, and their carers. After a difficult 18 months for many, we are very pleased to be re-opening GEMMS from the 30th July 2021. We will be running every Tuesday and Friday from 10am to 3pm at Hampson Park Community Centre. A message from our new home

Gemms have been made most welcome at our new home at the  Hampson Park Community Centre.  Our change of transport provider to "Herts. Community Transport"  is also working well. With this new transport Gemms' members are able to board much more easily as the mini-bus has a lift, which makes us all feel safer. Sponsored Nightrider Bicycle Event!

Richard Ryan is fundraising for GEMMS by taking part in a 60km sponsored bike ride, in London, at night, on 4th June 2016. The very first Nightrider event took place in 2010 with 300 cyclists taking up the challenge. Since then the event has grown with over 14,000 people cycling the 100km around London at night and has raised over £7 million for charities across the UK. Garden centre visit

Our members recently enjoyed a visit to the local garden centre, just a short coach trip ride provided an interesting and enjoyable outing for all who came along. We were able to enjoy a short walk around looking at the flowers and commenting on the various displays, this provided some gentle exercise for our members and mental stimulation through discussion of the different things we had seen. We then had a delicious lunch in the café before members were dropped back at home.
